Congratulations on your success in New York. Caesar is impressed with your military skills, and thinks your talents will best serve a new venture in our expanding Empire.

Farther south along the Eastern coast of this New World our explorers have located a large, isolated island rich in land and fishing resources, and on a convenient trade route for our ships returning to Rome. Caesar has sent some of Rome's finest engineers to assist you in building the long bridges that you will need to connect this island to its neighbors.

The local natives living on the smaller islands to the south and east may be willing to trade with you; build Missionary Posts near their villages and teach them the benefits of Romes advanced civilisation. Be warned, however; not far from here on the mainland and barrier islands the indigenous Indian tribes are very unhappy with our presence, and be assured your military skills will be tested in time. For this reason, Caesar is not setting as high a Prosperity requirement as you have had to attain in other assignments.

We are doubly fortunate that Roanoke is totally uninhabited, as the locals are convinced that the island is haunted by evil spirits, and have opted not to settle there themselves.

Caesar will allow you sufficient time to set up industry and trade routes, but rest assured he will very soon be requesting items such as pottery, oil, weapons and various foods from you. Fulfill his wishes promptly, and you will rapidly gain his Imperial Favour.

The island will most likely make an excellent military vantage point, and protecting your city from the hostile Indians should not prove too difficult. Do not, however, let this lull you into a false sense of security. The natives may easily be swayed by them to reject Romes benevolence. Be prepared for local uprisings.

Honour the Gods, honour Caesar, and you will soon have a flourishing metropolis as our glorious empire spreads throughout the New World.
